A Summer of Magic

As we approach the end of June, I thought I had better write another blog before we got too busy with our summer tour. A lot has happened since our last post. We have been busy with shows throughout PA, MD, NJ, WV, and NC. 

We recently appeared at two different Magic Conventions and will be performing for KIDabra Chapter #1 in NJ next week for their annual banquet. Performing for our fellow magicians and peers is always a little bit different than where we normally perform. Magicians watch a magic show differently than non-magians, (muggles if you will). Luckily, since this is what we have always done for a living, we can pull from our many years in the business and also perform several of the unique illusions that we have developed over the years. It's also rewarding to get great reactions and recognition from our peers. From the photo, you may have guessed that we also won a few awards. On Saturday, May 19th, 2012 Mike and Donna were awarded three different trophies from The Capital Area Professional Magicians, Society of American Magicians Assembly 110, & International Brotherhood of Magicians Ring 20 at their annual convention.

Coming up over the summer we have several shows that are open to the public. Coming up first is a week at Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg, PA. This is our 19th consecutive season at this family friendly Park and we are excited to return. They have several new rides that we are looking forward to. We will be performing at Knoebels from Friday, July 13, (yes, Friday the 13th - but its supposed to be a lucky date for magicians I hear) - to - Thursday, July 19th. We will return for a second week Monday, August 6th - to Sunday, August 12th. At Knoebels, parking, admission and entertainment including our show is free.

On Friday, July 20th we will be performing at Bright Side Opportunities Center, 515 Hershey Avenue in Lancaster, PA for a night of Great Family Fun and Entertainment as part of their SUMMERFEST 2012. We will be performing with our friend and very talented juggler Chris Ivey. We have known Chris for years and it will be fun to share the bill with him again. Here, you get two performers/shows, (we will each be performing for 45 - 60 minuets), for the low price of just $5. Tickets are available at the venue's front desk or by calling 717-509-1342. The show starts at 7:00 PM.

We will also be making appearances at private parties, resorts and other venues in a variety of locals. We hope you can catch our show at one of these locations over the summer. In between shows we are also doing some traveling and Mike will also be attending the Society of American Magicians National Conference in Las Vegas. And to top it all off we are also getting our son ready to leave for college. Needless to say, it's going to be a very busy summer.
